Advances in the Economics of Competition Law

Economics lies at the heart of antitrust law. In recent years, competition authorities and courts have been relying more and more on economic theory and empirical analysis. Such interest in economics points out the need to outline theoretical and empirical models and lay down a common framework of economic analysis. The Conference organized by Lear takes up this challenge: by bringing together the most prominent scholars in the field of the Economics of Competition Law, the Conference aims at promoting a thorough discussion on the current state of the art, identifying the goals yet to achieve.

The Rome 2005 Conference on the Economics of Competition Law is going to be a great opportunity to come together and participate to high-level debates with the best experts in the field. Scholars, practitioners, lawyers, staff of antitrust agencies and judges, will all greatly benefit from attending the Conference. So, mark your calendars, and we will be looking forward to see you in Rome on June 23-25, 2005 as we are certain you will enjoy the Conference activities that we will be organizing for you.

 Paolo Buccirossi - Director Lear
